Comments:
Ah, blackberry cobbler was a favorite childhood food. We use to pick the blackberries wild in our woods or hedgerows. Mom would serve it hot. We would eat it in cereal bowls with cold milk. Yummy! I miss it now.

Hi Tim! We always picked our berries too. We had a patch in the neighbors pasture that he let us pick whenever we wanted. My grandfather also planted and grew his own. Oh my gosh, my grandmother made THE best blackberry cobbler. Makes my mouth water just to think of it.

Awesome list!!

I love apple cobbler or peach cobbler... blueberry too..Ooyh I got to many favorites!!

We grew up picking berries for Mom all summer too... we lied tho if we found strawberries(blush.)

I love making jams and jellies and pickles!!

North

I agree with North...that list was awesome and written so poetically.

And like Tim, I love blackberry cobbler made from hand picked wild berries. I must admit that I like all blackberry cobblers no matter if they are made with tame blackberries. I love it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...Yumm.

I liked your covered bridge sketch and it sounded like your day wasn't starting out too well, but by the time you listed your favorite things, except for persimons...you sounded much happier.

Keep the faith and know that I'm thinking of you.
I'm sending {{{Hugs}}} your way.
Sandy

North, I totally understand about the strawberries! I always ate more of those than ended up in my bucket. I always got yelled at for it, but that didn't stop me from eating them!!!

Sandy, thank you so much for the "hug" and the kind words. It means a lot and made me smile.

What a great list and so positive. I too do not like green perssimons after being tricked into tasting one when I was young - yuk.

Thanks Doubleknot! Yeah, I can't believe I fell for biting a green persimmon. Blah!

and I like... you!! What a country gal you are!
I'm totally with you on the potatoes - I can eat a whole plate of them especially when there's heaps of butter and salt as well.

Hi Gracie!

I AM a country gal!!!

I am very blessed to have all of you as friends.
