My Friend Kyle ...

Here's my friend Kyle and I ...
we found a stack of straw and just couldn't resist it!!!

When I was a kid, we used to break open the hay bales,
throw them out of the loft ...
spread them out ... nice and fluffy ...

Then we would take turns jumping out of the barn loft,
landing on our nice cushion of hay down below.

Yes, we always got into trouble ...
but it was worth it!!!!

Sometimes we would jump from the roof of the smaller barn.
It wasn't quite as high as the big barn's loft door,
but ...
jumping into a pile of hay is always fun!!!

We buried ourselves.
We didn't think until after the fact about being itchy.
But the "itchies" didn't last long.

We also used to unstack the square bales and make tunnels that led all around the barn loft. You had to crawl through them on your hands and knees.
My knees must have been tougher then ...

We would go through our mazes for hours.
I remember it being a lot of fun and a lot of work.
We built them so that they were multi level ...
that made it a little harder to get through.

Then, when we were through ...
We'd have to stack the hay back up the way we found it.
Sounds like a lot of work to me now,
But we didn't mind at the time.

You don't look bad! You look very cute!!!

I have some pictures for you that I had made today that I'll put in my music bag and give to you when I see you.

I sure had fun!

There's one of you on the bulldozer too.

Ava...it's nice to see you having fun. Playing in barns and climbing up to the hayloft was always fun although I never got to do it on a regular basis since I was a city girl. But it was fun when I did.

Hi Sandy!

I really like barns. They just flood me with good memories.

And I did have a lot of fun this weekend. My buddy Kyle always keeps me laughing when I'm in his company. He's a great guy. And quite the singer.

Hi Anna!

I don't know ... what were you doing?

That looks like a lot of fun. I don't think I've ever jumped in hay piles.
