General: Falling asleep
Yesterday afternoon I was watching a television movie ... don't even remember what it was. Anyway, I fell asleep while watching it. I woke up with the remote control still in my hand and the tv was turned off. I was confused for a minute, then realized my husband must have turned it off. I turned it back on. When he heard the tv, he came in and peeked around the corner. I asked him how he had been able to push the power button on the remote control without it waking me up? He laughed! He said, " I didn't ... I pushed the power button on the tv."
Yes, I'm so used to remote controls I had forgotten there was a power button on the tv! How lame is that??????

I understand! I whine when I have to do something manually. I think microwaves and stoves should be next in line to get remote controls! :)
With cable the remote control works on all TV's in your house. (You do have a remote for each TV set).
My husband used to point his remote (in the living room) into the bedroom (where I was) towards the mirror at the head of my bed and later when we got rid of that bed, he pointed the remote to a picture on the wall...which would reflect the remote signal to my TV. He would change the channels on my set just for fun and if I went to sleep he would either turn down the sound or turn my TV off with his remote. He never had to leave the comfort of his easy chair.
We now have satelite and each TV remote only works on one TV...My husband can't play with my TV anymore...poor guy.
Hope you get better Ava and things work out for the best with your health.

I like to remind my son of how ancient time was, before colour tv's and remotes and mirowaves and video.
much to my chagrin, I am not ancient, but will be fifty this August... lol
so, it's hard to fathom some days when I reflect on his and my childhoods, at the outstanding differences, technological wise.
Sometimes, I think I like the old days best, when ya had to get up just to change a channel, or volume! I was thinner!(smiles) then! eeeek, ack!
