General: To the Doctor
Well, I went to the doctor this morning only to find out when I got there that he was tied up at the hospital and wouldn't make my appointment. This might have made some people mad, but if I had a problem that needed his attention, I'd want him to take the time to fix it, so ... I left smiling.
They did get me in later today although I'm pretty sure it's a "work you in" kind of thing which means I'll be there for a while. That's okay. I told them that I really did need to see him asap because of the seizures I've been having. You see, he didn't know about them yet. I knew I had this appointment coming up, so I had decided to just wait until then. The seizures weren't bad enough to go to the emergency room or anything but the last one sent my little body into shock afterwards and scared me a little bit. So, they got me in today, bless them.
So, I'll have to reschedule some lessons, but that's okay. I'm glad to get in today and not have to wait two to four weeks. He's an internal specialist and the usual turn around is four to six weeks, so I'm very thankful. Anytime I call with a problem, they always get me in and I'm very grateful for the care and attention they have given me over the years.
I'm experiencing blogging withdrawal. Only one entry all weekend!!! I did, however, enjoy my time with my husband and relaxing. I needed it. I know he sure did after his trip. So, if I go a little blogging crazy this week ... you know ...

Glad you got in to see your doctor and in a timely fashion. You are just like my husband...if he has a problem but already has an appointment in the near future, he won't call and try to get in earlier...he'll just wait for his appointment. Shame on both of you. You should both be spanked.
Seizures aren't nothing to take lightly and I hope your doctor told you that too.

Yes, yes, yes ...
The nurse gave me an ear full!! And a dirty look to boot!!!
He said they are most likely due to the chemical changes due to my lupus. I can look back and each one corresponds with a physically exherting day. When I had the last one, I was exhausted from driving eight hours and then going to play music.
It's hard to stay home!!!!
I'm learning.

Dear Ava, I second Pasadena's sentiments(scolding smile)
I would also have checked your spine-tip for inflammation, Ava, or arthritis.
Because you play music, stitch, etc. you may be over-exhurting those tendons to the neck, shoulders, etc?
I mention this, because I had seizures for 16 years in my late teens to early 30's..from a car accident-we hit black ice, spun, hit a rock-wall, got buried in it's snow for hours.
I got a whiplash so badly, it damaged my thoracic outlet - the major nervous connector at tip of spine, in the soft of the neck/skull.
AS i stopped doing things, it went away slowly; but when I exhurt those muscles/tendons; I feel the strain and pressure there. I have arthritis everywhere, even the neck; so when it's inflamed, whew!
Gel, ice-paks are so great for arthritis-takes down swelling, which causes the burning and pain.
Anyway, speech over(blush.) and I hope all will be alright; you endure enough, with lupus alone!

I know, I know .... (sigh)
Actually, my husband lets me know under no uncertain terms when I need to slow down. He's very sweet and spoils me rotten, but he does say "NO" when it's something that is too much. Sometimes I can gauge myself, other times I get too excited and just want to do everything while I'm feeling good.
Yes, cross stitching and sewing cause problems in my shoulders. I listen, and when I "feel" the signs, I stop.
The doctor said my "experiences" may not be seizures but just very rapid chemical changes from my lupus. My "seizures" consist of a tingly sensation sometimes in an isolated spot and other times I can feel it traveling through my body. I don't move ... just sit there until it's finished. I don't loose conciousness or anything like that and no shaking. I'll find out more after I see my lupus specialist ... which is also a Rhuemetologist.
North, it sounds like your car accident was a horrible ordeal. My gosh.
I hate ice packs. Cold makes me stiffen up ... I tend to go the oposite direction ... heat pad. Sometimes I alternate. I had to use ice packs when I was in physical therapy.
