Ely Opry:

I had a lot of fun out at Ely last night.
When we were finished at the Quincy session,
the weather was still holding out.
Dave and I made a dash for it.

We made it all the way with no rain.
However,
once we were there,
the rain hit big time!!!
There was lots of lightning and lots of rain!!!
But that didn't stop our music playing!
The band played on ...

I had to run out to the car for something ...
The rain hit just as I locked and closed the car door.
Yes,
I got a little wet.
As soon as I got inside, the down pour hit.

There was a great crowd last night.
Both with musicians and singers
as well as listeners.

I sang a couple of songs with miss Ashley ...
She is a very good vocalist.
I'll have to sing with her some more!!!!

Doug's still going strong with his fiddle
and has learned all sorts of new tunes.

William and I were talking about the movie Nacho Libre.
Oh my gosh!
I loved that movie.
I think Jack Black is hillarious!

John was there, so we had lots of fiddling.
I think it is so fun when all of the fiddlers stand together and play.
That fiddle music just sings to my heart.
Fills me with joy.
I am so thankful for my musical talents.
No, I'm not super talented,
but am able to play and be happy.
That's what it's all about.

Wow,
look at me!
Getting all misty!

I was home by around 1:30 last night!
I've got to stop staying as late as I have the last few times.
It's just so hard to stop playing!!!

There were so many people,
and I know so few names ...

Bert was there and told me her latest grades.
You go girl!
It is so hard to be going back to school when you are raising a family.
I've done it ... and there were times when I just wanted to sit down and cry.
Very stressful.

Well, I'm still sitting here with my banjo around my neck,
so I guess maybe I'd better for play it for a little bit.
I practiced banjo for an hour yesterday.

Can't stand it anymore!
Must go play!
