Tree, Bridge:

I can feel the dampness of this place on my skin just looking at this picture.
Isn't it beautiful?
I find the greenery of nature to be very soothing and relaxing.
Add the sound of running water on top of that and I'm hypnotized!
Seriously.
I could just sit there for hours and listen to the sounds around me.
Growing up, we had woods on our property.
My father cut walking trails through it.
Very non invasive.
I would go out there and sit under a tree and read books, draw, write ...
Sometimes just sit and listen.
If you're in the woods and you're quiet and sit still for about fifteen minutes,
The wildlife will accept you and go on about their business.
Oh, if I'd only had a camera then.
I even had a bobcat walk by once.
Now THAT was exciting!!
We also had a Black Panther in the area.
I never came across him in the woods,
But we would see him and especially hear him at night.
Very eerie sound to hear that.
To know he's out there,
somewhere,
very close
and you can't see him.
Wow!
We would see his paw prints too.
I used to be able to track and identify all sorts of animal tracks.
Not so much anymore,
But ...
I did see bear tracks at the edge of the lake out at Siloam Springs.
I also saw the tracks of a very large cat at the edge of the water.
Cougar?
I've talked to several people and they've said that the cougar/panther is making a come back.
I'm a little more careful walking alone out there since I've seen those tracks.
Although the odds are that I will never see either one.
I'll just be a little more careful walking up to dens to see what's in there.
(yes, I do that)

No, let's just clarify that when I walk up to a den to see what's in there ... I'm not sticking my head in ... I'm checking the tracks outside the entrance.
I've always been a nature girl myself and have sat quietly in the woods watching & listening. We don't have cougars here although there are tales about a black panther. We do have bobcats, bears and the other normal wildlife.
