Elvis was one of my mother's favorite singers, although she was a bit shy about admitting it. Back in December of 2002, I bought a double CD set of Elvis singing Gospel music, intending to give it to Mom for Christmas. Unfortunately, my mom was having heart trouble and didn't live long enough for me to give her the CD's. Even though my Dad was not much of an Elvis fan, he still has those CD's in memory of mom.
Hearing Elvis sing his version of How Great Thou Art is what inspired me to learn to play the piano. What a voice that man had. It spoke to my soul.
Your right about Elvis' singing...it spoke to my soul too. I guess that's why he was so popular...you felt what he was singing.
Gosh, any Elvis song will do!! Fell in love with Elvis when I were maybe 8? I asked Mom if he were an angel, he were so handsome and perfect!! lol
